Dr. Tobias Mwandala

Dr. Tobias Mwandala, PhD, RSW, is a lead psychotherapist and social worker. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Prince Edward Island. He is a Master of Social Work (MSW – Clinical Specialization) graduate from the University of Calgary, Canada. Has a Certificate in Public Leadership and Leading Nonviolent Movements for Social Progress from Harvard Kennedy School, Cambridge, Massachusetts. He earned a doctorate (Ph.D.) in education from Northcentral University, United States of America. Dr. Tobias is committed to advancing the well-being and welfare of adults, children, and families.

Dr. Tobias is passionate about working with individuals, couples, and families. His personable style puts this population at ease, and his ability to quickly build rapport makes the counseling experience stress-free and constructive. His areas of practice include intimacy issues and more.

Dr. Tobias has extensive experience working with individuals with depression and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), including motor vehicle accident (MVA) related trauma, anxiety, and PTSD treatment. Other areas he has expertise in include academic/career issues, sexual abuse, relationship conflicts/break-ups, loss and grief, and other transitioning issues. In counseling, he utilizes cognitive-behavior therapy, narrative therapy, and solution-focused models. He emphasizes wholeness and individual strengths in addressing client’s issues or concerns.

Areas of Specialization: Depression, PTSD, anxiety, identity crisis, addiction, and relationship issues.

Dr. Tobias enjoys traveling, reading, spending time with friends and family, and learning about different cultures worldwide.
